One of my main responsibilities as Station Manager for NewsWatch Ole Miss is producing the newscast Monday through Friday. That means choosing stories, deciding what format each story will be, stacking the show, and assigning anchors/sets to each story. I also directed and switched each of these shows. Below are a few shows that I’ve produced while at NewsWatch Ole Miss.

Hurricane Michael: Mississippi Mission

The Monday our team got back from a reporting trip to Florida, we put together a special Hurricane Michael show to showcase our work, as well as a few other pieces of work we had been holding onto. Below is that show.

Ole Miss Travels to Miss America 2019

Miss Mississippi and Miss Tennessee 2018 are both tied to Ole Miss’ School of Journalism and New Media. Miss Mississippi, Aysa Branch, is a current student while Miss Tennessee Christine Williamson is a graduate of the school. Since they both won state titles, we sent a team of students journalists up to Atlantic City, New Jersey to cover the prelims of the 2019 Miss America pageant. I’m extremely proud of the work our journalists did. This was also an all local show.

NCAA Hands Ole Miss Long Awaited Sanctions

The Ole Miss football program received its sanctions on December 1, 2017. That happened to be the last day of shows for NewsWatch Ole Miss for the Fall 2017 semester. Below is the show we put together.
